Peace and well-being in the country have become the main value of the people. This opinion was expressed today by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a meeting with regional media representatives, commenting on the key points of the President's Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
Nikolai Sherstnev noted that the Head of State's speech was multifaceted and impressive, and its discussion in society and work collectives is still ongoing, with young people expressing themselves very actively. According to the head of the region, people's statements indicate that a reevaluation of values is occurring or has already occurred in all segments of the population. "The situation that has developed around Belarus has made many people think: is the country moving in the right direction? And I think our people have reevaluated many things. At the present moment, people see that the foundation of foundations is peace and well-being in the country. This is primary," explained the head of the regional executive committee.
Projecting the content of the Address onto the activities of local authorities, Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized: "As a governor, I must organize my work and the work of my subordinates in such a way as to overcome the negative phenomena that exist in the Vitebsk region. Everything I want and plan to do should lead to people living happily: receiving decent wages, and the Vitebsk region, despite difficult natural and climatic conditions, becoming the best."
During the meeting at the regional executive committee, after the ceremonial part, the head of Vitebsk region answered journalists' questions on key topics of concern to the media audience. Awards of the F. Skorina Regional Competition for Print Media and the "Vityaz" Competition for Electronic Media were also presented.
