Schoolchildren from the Vitebsk region won 111 diplomas at the final stage of the republican subject Olympiad

This year, students from the Vitebsk region won 111 diplomas based on the results of the final stage of the republican subject Olympiad. This is the second best result in the country – our region is second only to Minsk.

It is important that among the awards received by the students, 28 are first-degree diplomas and 32 are second-degree diplomas, noted Vladimir Bednyakov, head of the general education department of the main department for education of the regional executive committee.

The performance at the social studies Olympiad was flawless. Ten participants who reached the republican level won ten diplomas. A hundred percent success! Representatives of Vitebsk region also showed very worthy results in subjects such as informatics (11 out of 15 participants were among the awardees), geography (10 diplomas out of 16 participants), mathematics (15 diplomas out of 22 participants), Russian language (18 and 12 respectively). Our students were also well prepared for labor training: six out of ten students received awards. If we consider the percentage ratio, the performance in the subject "Chinese Language" was also successful: there were only three participants, but they won two diplomas.

As for specific educational institutions, Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 2 is ahead of all in terms of Olympiad participation results. Its students received a total of 28 diplomas at the final stage! Other educational institutions in the regional center can also be noted – in particular, Gymnasium No. 8 (its students brought ten awards to the treasury of the northern region) and Gymnasium No. 1 named after J. Alfyorov (nine awards). In addition, students from Secondary School No. 12 of Novopolotsk, Secondary School No. 12 of Vitebsk named after L. Filipenko, and Secondary School No. 9 of Orsha won four diplomas each.

It is gratifying that rural schools were not lost against the background of urban educational institutions. They also provide children with excellent knowledge and prepare competitive participants for the Olympiad movement. Such educational institutions, for example, include Vetrin Secondary School named after D. Tyabut of Polotsk district, Dolzha Secondary School of Vitebsk district, and Glyboka Secondary School named after B. Yurkin of Ushachi district.
