Orsha schoolchildren are collecting books about Victory for veterans
February 2, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Orsha schoolchildren are collecting books about Victory for war veterans, Dmitry Bukhovets, the second secretary of the Orsha city committee of the BRSM, told a BELTA correspondent.
The "Book about Victory - to a Great Patriotic War Veteran" campaign, organized by the Orsha city committee of the BRSM and the Council of Veterans and dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the victory of the Belarusian people over the Nazi invaders, started in Orsha in December last year. Activists of the BRSM primary organizations, created in educational institutions and labor collectives of the city, as well as everyone who wishes, are collecting books about events related to the Great Patriotic War from their home libraries for transfer to the Republican Hospital for Disabled Veterans of the Great Patriotic War (Yurtsevo village, Orsha district). The solemn event will take place on Defender of the Fatherland Day, February 23.
The children have already collected more than a hundred publications, the themes of which turned out to be much broader than initially expected. In addition to books about Victory, the collection includes works by authors from the 1960s-1990s dedicated to the post-war period. An insert with wishes of kindness, longevity, and health from the campaign participants will be glued to the inside of the cover of each publication. -0-
