Schoolchildren from Vitebsk and St. Petersburg will spend their autumn holidays together

The "Empire of Friendship" youth gathering will be held from October 27 to November 1 in Vitebsk with the participation of more than 100 schoolchildren from the regional center and St. Petersburg, the education department of the Pervomaisky District Administration of Vitebsk informed a BELTA correspondent. The event, which has become traditional, will take place at the Vitebsk boarding school for children with hearing impairments. During the vacation week, the children will take part in a rich cultural and educational program. The organizers have planned various contests and quizzes on local history, and round tables on issues of patriotic education. Students will compete in sports competitions and active games, as well as demonstrate their knowledge in intellectual battles. In addition, the participants of the gathering will go on excursions around the city, visit museums, and get acquainted with the sights of Vitebsk. The organizers of the gathering are the education department of the Pervomaisky District Administration of Vitebsk and the St. Petersburg Public Foundation for the Support of Scout and Pioneer Movements "Red Unicorn". According to the education department of the regional executive committee, a total of more than 9.5 thousand children and adolescents in the region will undergo health improvement in day camps during the autumn holidays, which have started operating at secondary educational institutions. -0-
