An acting school will be opened in Polotsk

The idea belongs to Vera Kiseleva, director of the "Pilgrim" theater and a member of the Belarusian Union of Theater Workers. She will lead the classes, inviting teachers from the Belarusian Academy of Arts and professional actors by agreement.

Enrollment in the school will begin in September and will be competitive. Young people aged 14 and older, including those from neighboring districts, can become students. They will be taught the basics of acting, stage speech, vocals, choreography, and introduced to the history of theatrical art development and its traditions in the Polotsk region.

Vera Kiseleva believes that such work will prepare the ground for the creation of a permanent theater troupe in the city. Already, more and more talented Polotsk residents who have gone through the "Pilgrim" school are choosing acting as their profession. This year, one of the theater participants was admitted to the renowned GITIS – the Russian Institute of Theater Arts in Moscow.
