Shved: I call on citizens not to succumb to provocations, not to participate in illegal actions
"Today is a very important process in the history of our country. A referendum is taking place, at which our citizens must decide on amendments and additions to the Basic Law. The situation at all polling stations is completely calm and fully controlled by law enforcement and other state bodies. At the same time, in certain destructive Telegram channels, information began to spread with calls to disrupt the referendum, destroy ballots, and participate in all sorts of illegal actions, rallies, and pickets," said Andrei Shved.
The Prosecutor General reminded that in accordance with the law, these actions are subject to administrative, and in certain cases, criminal liability. According to him, responsibility for such actions will inevitably follow. The law is the same for everyone.
"Any facts of violation of the law, threats against members of the election commission, officials, law enforcement and state bodies will be given the most principled legal assessment. We are very carefully monitoring every message. And those who organize all this, and those who spread it, will sooner or later be identified and brought to justice. We have all the forces and means for this, we have the experience that we have gained in recent years. Therefore, I urge citizens not to fall for all sorts of provocations, not to participate in illegal actions, not to pay attention to deliberately false information, to focus on official sources of information and to fulfill their civic duty - to come to the polling station," Andrei Shved emphasized.
