The Swedish Public Employment Service will help colleagues from the Vitebsk region create a predictive model for the labor market

Шведская служба занятости поможет коллегам из Витебской области создать прогнозную модель для рынка труда

The Swedish Public Employment Service will assist its colleagues from the Vitebsk region in improving their work and developing a model for analyzing and forecasting the labor market situation. The corresponding memorandum was signed today at the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

A delegation from the Swedish Public Employment Service is visiting Vitebsk on October 21-22 with the aim of exchanging experience and information on the state of the labor market, as well as developing and strengthening international cooperation. The visit marked the beginning of the implementation of the project "Improving the Activities of the Public Employment Service of the Republic of Belarus" in the region. In addition to the Vitebsk region, it includes the Grodno region and Minsk. The signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Committee for Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Swedish Public Employment Service is also one of the stages of this project. The document envisages the development of cooperation in improving the methods of work of the public employment service and expanding the range of its services, as well as the development of a model for analyzing and forecasting the labor market. As explained by the project manager Joakim Josefsson, in all cooperation projects, they not only strive to share their experience but also to study the developments available in the recipient country. Areas for such exchange may include improving the educational level of job seekers; ways to facilitate the search for vacancies; and providing assistance in employment for vulnerable population groups.

The work of the three-year project "Improving the Activities of the State Employment Service of the Population of the Republic of Belarus" consists of three stages: presentation of the Swedish model and forms of work; study of conditions in the partner country, its legislation; development of a model suitable for local conditions and realities. This model will help the employment service to more effectively inform the population about the situation and trends in the labor market. And another result will be the improvement of contacts between the service and employers, job seekers. "This is not our first time in Belarus - we implemented another project here for three years. And we are very glad that now the geography of cooperation has gone beyond Minsk and has covered the regions. So we plan to expand and deepen the developments of the past project, to spread this experience, including in the Vitebsk region, taking into account what will be useful for it," added Joakim Josefsson.

The program of the visit of the Swedish delegation also includes presentations, a round table with the participation of employment services of Vitebsk and Vitebsk region, familiarization with the work of these units on the ground, and a visit to a boarding school for hearing-impaired children, where temporary employment programs are implemented.

The next upcoming event of the project will be a kick-off conference with the participation of all parties. Then training events for employees of employment services in Minsk and the regions will begin.
