The "Vitebchanka" sewing company will more than double its share of products for the domestic market in 2010
May 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The Vitebsk regional communal unitary sewing production enterprise "Vitebchanka" plans to increase the share of products for the domestic market to 47% of the total output in 2010, the enterprise informed a BELTA correspondent.
In January-April, it grew to 35%, while at the end of last year it was only 19%. The remaining part is accounted for by tolling orders. The increase in production for the domestic market became possible thanks to extensive technical re-equipment carried out at the end of 2009. The enterprise acquired domestic equipment for the cutting shop and 45 German-made machines for the sewing shop. A total of Br900 million was allocated for these purposes.
The modernization of production has made it possible to expand the range of products, significantly improve their quality, and increase the volume of output. For example, "Vitebchanka" is currently finishing the summer collection made of linen fabrics from the Orsha Linen Mill, which is released under the "ModelVi" trademark. It includes about 20 models of men's and women's clothing. These are trousers, skirts, shorts, capris, dresses, sundresses, and jackets of various sizes. The new collection will be available in the republic's retail network by the end of May.
In addition, the enterprise's designers are working on developing a winter collection of clothing for sports and active recreation. It is planned to be released for sale in the third quarter.
The enterprise was founded in 1945. In 2001, it became a communal property. It specializes in the production of men's, women's, and children's outerwear. The range includes over 100 types of products. The total number of employees is over 300 people. In January-April, the enterprise produced products worth almost Br900 million, which is 22% higher than in the same period last year. -0-
