A heavy downpour with hail in Vitebsk led to temporary disruptions in electric transport

July 19, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. In Vitebsk, a heavy downpour, accompanied by gusts of wind and hail, led to temporary stops of tram traffic on certain sections of city highways. Currently, traffic has been fully restored, BELTA was informed by the Vitebsk Tram and Trolleybus Administration.

Thus, temporary stops of electric transport were noted in the area of the Smolensk market and the railway station. Due to the strong flow, the storm sewage system could not cope with the water discharge at the same time, which forced the trams to stop. After the water naturally receded, traffic was restored.

Tram traffic was also difficult in some other parts of the city, but for a short period, as the water level rise was insignificant and not prolonged. The involvement of specialized units and services was not required.

According to preliminary data from Vitebskoblgidromet, two ten-day norms of precipitation fell in the city.-0-
