The Vitebsk Regional Philharmonic is preparing a symphonic poem and jazz programs for the new season

Traditionally, on October 1, World Music Day, the regional philharmonic society opens the curtain of a new season. What awaits lovers of high art, what programs have Vitebsk soloists and ensembles prepared, who of the famous performers will perform in Vitebsk? The artistic director of the philharmonic society, Vladimir Babariko, told us about this.

The overture to Richard Strauss's symphonic poem "Also sprach Zarathustra," which will be performed by the philharmonic symphony orchestra, will become a kind of musical call sign for the thirtieth concert year. This work is well known from the TV program "What? Where? When?", which used a musical excerpt at the beginning of the broadcast. It will be even more interesting to see how our orchestra will play it, especially together with the organ.

Although the current ensemble was created only in 2012, it is considered the successor to the symphony orchestra led by the outstanding musician and conductor Nikolai Malko, which was formed in 1918 in Vitebsk on the basis of the People's Conservatory. It existed for only three years but entered the city's history as one of its brightest cultural phenomena. In December, modern musicians will celebrate the 100th anniversary of their ancestor with a grand jubilee concert.

In October, the only organ duet in Belarus will be heard on the Vitebsk stage for the first time

Original works for the king of musical instruments will be performed by young organists Yuri Gabrus and Varvara Tsaryuk from the State Chamber Choir of the Republic of Belarus.

Soloists of the Vitebsk Philharmonic will delight vocal music lovers with concerts featuring songs from the repertoire of Alla Pugacheva and Italian melodies. Guests of Vitebsk will include Salta Akhmetova from Kazakhstan and Belarusian baritone Ilya Silchukov, laureates of the TV project "Big Opera."

New programs from the popular cycles "Fairy Tales of the Doll Lyalya" and "Visiting the King" have been prepared for young viewers.

Autumn is just beginning outside, but adults are already preparing for a winter fairy tale. This year, the main character of the New Year's performances will be The Little Mermaid.

The current season's program will feature jazz performances with musicians from different countries, piano and organ concerts, and the play "The Insect Life" (a collaborative work by singer, theater director, and leader of the band "Serebryanaya svadba" Svetlana Ben, director and playwright Dmitry Bogoslavsky, and composer Valery Voronov).

Future mothers will remain welcome guests. The project "Weave a Soul from Notes" will undergo some format changes, becoming more intimate.
