The lilac alley "Flowers of Great Victory" was laid near the Museum of People's Glory in Ushachi

A lilac alley of memory "Flowers of the Great Victory" has been laid on the territory of the Ushaсhi Museum of People's Glory named after Hero of the Soviet Union V.E. Lobanok, a BELTA correspondent reports.

An alley of decorative lilacs appeared on the right side of the museum building. 16 bushes were planted here in honor of the 16 partisan brigades of the Polotsk-Lepel partisan zone, who on the night of May 5, 1944, managed to break the enemy's fiery ring and lead 15,000 civilians out of the territory surrounded by the enemy. The task was accomplished despite the fact that the invaders' forces outnumbered the partisans three to one.

The alley was laid as part of the Days of Partisan Glory in the Ushaсhi district, dedicated to the 79th anniversary of the breakthrough of the enemy blockade by partisans of the Polotsk-Lepel zone in the Ushaсhi district during the Great Patriotic War.

"Events to name our famous countrymen to institutions – schools, art centers, cultural centers, planting trees – are a new life, spring. And the Victory Day holiday brings all this together and turns it into such a huge symbol of light, life, and Victory," noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, who took part in the festive event.-0-
