The driver training system in driving schools will be improved - "Beltehsmot"
November 12, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. The system of driver training in driving schools will be improved. This was announced today to journalists by the Director of UP "Beltekhosmotr" Anatoly Pashkevich, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent. In Vitebsk, he is taking part in a regional seminar-meeting with the heads of driving schools in the Vitebsk region.
"Beltekhosmotr", which has been entrusted with the functions of certification and control of services in this area, has prepared a package of amendments to the Technical Code of Practice, which defines the requirements for the organization of driver training and training vehicles in driving schools. The planned adjustment does not imply tightening the requirements for educational organizations, but is aimed at improving the quality of driver training and improving the educational process in them, emphasized Anatoly Pashkevich.
"Today, our task is to pay special attention to the quality of training in the driver training system, it is necessary to bring the educational process to a new, modern level," he added. In addition, the planned changes in training programs are due to the introduction of a new type of driver's license from January 1, 2011, which includes 11 driver categories and subcategories. Currently, the package of amendments is undergoing coordination and discussion in government bodies, as well as with representatives of driving schools, after which it will be sent to the government for approval. The amendments may be adopted by the end of 2010. The draft document is posted on the "Beltekhosmotr" website.
The adjustments to the driver training process concern the organization of training, including practical driving, and the requirements for training vehicles. The draft also contains unified requirements for the arrangement of training grounds. When inspecting driving schools, the majority of violations are identified in the organization of practical training, the preparation of training vehicles, and there are also issues with the criteria for assessing the quality of training. -0-
