Vitebsk Regional Union of Consumer Societies must develop a clear plan for the development of district consumer cooperatives in the region and create a profitable retail network. This was stated at a meeting of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee by its Chairman Nikolai Sherstnev.
"It is necessary to develop a clear business plan for the development of district consumer cooperatives, which will clearly outline the sources for debt repayment and what needs to be sold. Currently, it does not exist. The main goal at the moment is to create a profitable retail network that will operate profitably and develop at its expense. And this must be done quickly: all problems facing district consumer cooperatives must be resolved this year," Nikolai Sherstnev emphasized, addressing the head of the Vitebsk Regional Union of Consumer Societies. The governor also drew attention to the influence that the district consumer cooperative system is losing in rural areas. "You are giving up territories and doing nothing," Nikolai Sherstnev stated. He added that the issue of the activities of the regional union of consumer societies will be considered again in a working manner.
