The electronic queue booking system at border crossing points will be introduced in 2015
In the near future, it will be possible to book Belarusian border crossing times online. A draft decree on the introduction of an electronic queue system at road border crossing points has been submitted for consideration to the Presidential Administration.
This statement was made by the Chairman of the State Border Committee of Belarus, Leonid Maltsev, who participated in a meeting of the regional commission for the implementation of state border policy.
– An important issue for developing the country's transit attractiveness and maintaining law and order in border areas remains the work to minimize queues at road border crossing points through the introduction of an electronic queue system, – emphasized the head of the border agency. It allows booking the vehicle's entry time into the checkpoint via the Internet and will be available on the State Border Committee portal. As an experiment, the service was introduced at the "Kozlovichi" checkpoint, and the possibility of its testing at the "Brest" ("Varshavsky Most") road checkpoint is currently being worked out.
According to the State Border Committee's estimates, in the future, it would be advisable to introduce such a system at the "Grigorovshchina" and "Urbany" checkpoints in the Vitebsk region.
– This is a proposal for now, as the goal is not to implement the system, but to improve the border crossing process, – emphasized Leonid Maltsev. He noted that the first and last impressions of the country are formed precisely here. Therefore, all border crossing points must be in perfect condition.
