Industrial enterprises' inventories in the Vitebsk region decreased by almost Br81 billion in 2009.

January 20, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. Inventories of finished products of industrial enterprises of the Vitebsk region as of January 1, 2010, decreased by Br80.8 billion compared to January 1 of the previous year, and amounted to Br404.5 billion, or 33.9% of the average monthly production volume. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Economics Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. For enterprises of republican ownership, the overstocking decreased by Br50.3 billion to Br308.1 billion, or 30.9% of the average monthly production volume. For communal enterprises - by Br30.5 billion to Br96.4 billion (49.5%). At most industrial enterprises in the region, finished product inventories do not exceed established norms. At the same time, at individual enterprises (SOOO "Marko", SOOO "Belvest", PRUP "Vitebsk Fur Combine", etc.), the accumulation of products is due to the seasonality of their sales. Excess inventories at machine-tool building enterprises and others operating within the framework of industrial cooperation are mainly related to the non-fulfillment of contractual obligations by customers, the committee noted. To promote goods in the domestic market, enterprises of the region carried out measures to intensify trade in 2009. More than 2,000 weekend fairs were held in cities and districts of the region. Over 600 sales of non-food products at reduced prices were held, and more than 50 exhibitions and tastings of food industry products were organized. Manufacturers have developed a set of measures for 2010. For example, Vitebsk Concern "Meat and Dairy Products" is working to develop markets in Armenia, Syria, Turkey, Vietnam, and Iran to expand the geography of supplies. Vitebsk Food Industry Association is actively seeking partners for long-term contracts for the supply of fruit and vegetable canned goods to the domestic market and for export. -0-
