Warehouse stocks in the Vitebsk region as of February 1 amounted to 36.6% of the average monthly production volume

February 8, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. As of February 1, 2010, the stock of finished goods in the industry of the Vitebsk region amounted to Br446.6 billion in actual prices, or 36.6% of the average monthly production volume, the Committee for Economy of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed BELTA correspondent. As of January 1, 2010, the volume of unsold products was Br404.5 billion, or 33.9% of the average monthly production volume. The increase in accumulation is due to the growth of stocks at Naftan OJSC, whose products are technologically applicable to the winter season, as well as the seasonal accumulation of goods for the spring-summer period. As of February 1, machine-building and metal-processing enterprises increased their stocks to Br100.8 billion (146% of the average monthly production volume). On January 1, they amounted to Br94.7 billion (140.4%). The volume of products in the warehouses of Visas OJSC, Lyos RUP, Vistan, Izmeritel, and Evistor plants has increased. The volume of unsold products also increased at enterprises of the light industry (to Br157.3 billion, or 207.1%), construction industry (to Br28.7 billion, or 110.7%), and food industry (Br65.2 billion, or 43.8%). At the same time, among the latter, enterprises of the Vitebsk Meat and Dairy Products Concern (from 37.6% on January 1 to 31.6% on February 1) and Vitebskzernoprodukt CJSC (from 54.3% to 48.8%, respectively) significantly reduced their stocks of unsold products. Among enterprises of communal ownership, the volume of unsold products decreased by Br8.2 billion to Br54.8 billion (48.8%), and those of non-departmental subordination increased by Br3.2 billion to Br30.2 billion (57.4%). As reported by the Vitebsk Regional State Control Committee, the dynamics of warehouse stock changes were regularly studied throughout 2009 at 13 key enterprises in the region. It was found that the marketing services of many industrial enterprises do not show activity in promoting their own products in the domestic market. For example, the products of Classica of Fashion Industry OJSC lose in the competition for customers due to their design and inefficient customer service, and Orsha Linen Mill clearly lacks a more aggressive and proactive marketing strategy. -0-
