The Youth Square was opened today in Vitebsk for the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol
A public garden has appeared in the young Medtsentr microdistrict, next to a kindergarten. Almost three weeks ago, about 50 activists planted 100 trees (birches, maples) and perennial shrubs. Young people painted benches and lampposts, and landscaped the adjacent territory. Recently, a memorial sign in the form of a stone with a plaque was installed in the garden.
"On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol, we talked with the older generation, and they told us about the traditions that were established by them. Some built bridges, residential buildings, many parks in Vitebsk were created by the hands of Komsomol members. We also continued one of the traditions and laid a garden. In the future, we plan to install youth art objects and playgrounds here," said Tatyana Krasakova, First Secretary of the Vitebsk City Organization of the BRSM.
On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the Komsomol, "Dialogues of Generations" were held in each district of the regional center, where young people communicated with representatives of Komsomol organizations of past years. Also, the older generation presented BRSM tickets to its young members. In addition, young people took part in a quest and an intellectual tournament dedicated to the anniversary date.
