September 2, Glubokoye / Tatyana Pastushenko - BELTA /. A square of famous natives of Glubokoye was opened today during the celebration of the Day of Belarusian Written Language, a BELTA correspondent reports. As Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets noted at the opening ceremony, it is no coincidence that Vitebsk region is hosting the Day of Written Language for the fifth time, and this year the holiday is held in the ancient city of Glubokoye, which will celebrate its 600th anniversary in 2014. According to Alexander Kosinets, the opening of the square of famous fellow countrymen from Glubokoye testifies to the fact that Belarusians remember their history and value the contribution of great people to the country's development.
