The 'Slavic Run' took place in Vitebsk for the second time as part of the arts festival

«Славянский забег» второй раз прошел в Витебске в рамках фестиваля искусств
Last year, on the initiative of the Belarusian Athletics Federation and its chairman, Olympic medalist in discus throw, Vadim Devyatovsky from Novopolotsk, the "Slavic Run" was organized for the first time in Vitebsk as part of the arts festival.

It is gratifying that the initiative has been continued, and last Sunday thousands of fans of a healthy lifestyle of various ages gathered on Victory Square to demonstrate their commitment to the Olympic ideals. And this was despite the rainy weather.

The participation of wheelchair users, who have been supporting this initiative for the second year in a row, was particularly impressive. Among them, participants of the inclusive sports club "Angel Wings" stood out.

Each participant chose their own distance: from several hundred meters to a serious 10-kilometer stretch.

The head of the sports and tourism department of the regional executive committee, Vasily Zakharevich, noted the pleasing fact that many participants came with their families, which eloquently testifies that all ages are subject to sports.

The winners (the 10-kilometer distance was first covered by Alexander Kruglenya from Minsk with a result of 30.5 minutes, and the best representative of the region on this track was Yuri Yankulev from Polotsk, who took 3rd place) received commemorative medals and cash certificates, and all participants, among whom were representatives from neighboring countries Latvia and Russia, received a lot of positive impressions.
