Investigators are clarifying the circumstances of the death of a married couple in the Ushachy district

On April 2, the bodies of a 75-year-old man and a 77-year-old woman with numerous bodily injuries were discovered in a private house located in the Ushachi district. The death of the couple became known from relatives who became concerned after the couple had not been in touch.

Investigators from the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region and employees of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee arrived at the scene to clarify the circumstances.

The collection of evidence and assessment of the seized material traces continued throughout the night. The crime scene was inspected using the capabilities of a mobile forensic laboratory.

The work at the scene was coordinated by the head of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk region, Vladimir Shalukhin.

As a result of the complex of investigative and procedural actions, all possible versions are being considered, each of which requires thorough verification. At the same time, based on the established trace evidence and seized material evidence, the primary version considered is that the couple's death is related to the exacerbation of interpersonal relationships within the couple.

Investigators continue to work on reconstructing the events, establishing the causes and conditions that led to the commission of the crime.
