Investigation seeks other victims of businessman's abductors in Vitebsk

Investigators believe that not only one person, but a number of individuals have suffered from the actions of three suspects who kidnapped a businessman in Vitebsk in January 2015. In this regard, the Investigative Committee appeals to the residents of the city and the region: if you have become a victim of the people shown in the photograph, immediately report to law enforcement agencies.

Recall: the suspects ambushed the 20-year-old individual entrepreneur in the entrance of his house, handcuffed him by force, forced him into a car, and drove him to the forest. There, they tied the young man to the car's tow hitch and demanded that he transfer one thousand US dollars to them every month. In case of refusal, they threatened him with torture and physical violence.

Having received forced consent to the monthly transfer of money, the suspects released the victim. He went to the police, and the men were detained.

Now they have been charged under paragraph 3.6, part 2, article 182 of the Criminal Code - "Kidnapping committed for mercenary motives by a group of persons by prior conspiracy." The accused are in custody.
