The investigation may identify the person involved in the hooligan explosion near the KGB administration building in Vitebsk. This was announced today at a press conference by Vladimir Shalukhin, Head of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
In Vitebsk, on November 11, 2012, at 18:48, a primitive homemade pyrotechnic device was detonated near the KGB administration building for the Vitebsk Region, causing damage to two windows of the administrative building. A criminal case was initiated under Article 339 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) based on this fact.
The investigation of the case is under the jurisdiction of the Investigative Committee Department for the Vitebsk Region. A working group of the most experienced employees has been formed. Currently, over 400 people have been interrogated, and over 300 examinations have been assigned, most of which are explosive-technical and computer-information related. "A number of pieces of evidence have been obtained that will allow, if identified, to identify the person who committed this crime and prove their guilt," said Vladimir Shalukhin.
According to him, one resident of Vitebsk, who had previously repeatedly called the KGB administration with threats, was detained on suspicion of committing the hooligan explosion. However, no preventive measure was chosen against him, and no charges were brought. The investigation does not have evidence of his involvement in the crime.
