A rally of young foresters was held in Vitebsk
As Veronika Pishchelina, head of the main biology sector of the Vitebsk Regional Palace of Children and Youth, told us, seven school forestry units presented their business cards to the jury and completed practical and theoretical tasks. The students of Dolzhan Secondary School of the Vitebsk District coped best with the tests, taking all six diplomas. However, in the team competition for practical tasks, the representatives of the Moshkan Kindergarten-Secondary School of the Sennensky District were unmatched. A team of the Vitebsk region will be formed from the winners to participate in the republican rally of young foresters.
According to Maria Mikhnevich, Deputy General Director of Vitebsk GPLKHO, there are currently 25 school forestry units operating in the educational institutions of the region. They have a widest range of activities: from preventive measures in cooperation with the state forest guard to research work. But the main thing is a kind of personnel reserve for forestry. Good specialists who love and are devoted to the forest grow up from the members of school forestry units in the future.
