A military band competition was held in Vitebsk
At the preliminary stages of the creative competition, held in all military garrisons of the country, the performances of local artists were evaluated by the leadership of the military band service of the Armed Forces. This fact imposed additional responsibility on the contenders and was an incentive to show themselves from the best side.
Thus, the army musicians of the Vitebsk region tried to win high scores not only through the honed actions of the units on the parade ground and the virtuoso mastery of instruments, but also by using elements far from the classical techniques of band members, for example, shooting from a machine gun, dancing, and igniting signal flares.
As a result, the capital's professionals decided that the paratrooper musicians would represent the Vitebsk region in the final of the review competition, which will be held in Bobruisk at the end of September.
— To surprise the jury, we prepared performances with the help of colleagues from Irina Bukovetskaya's pop dance ensemble, the choir of the regional philharmonic society, and the drummers of the Vitebsk Music College named after I. Solertinsky, — said military conductor and bandmaster of the 103rd Separate Guards Airborne Brigade, Alexey Surovoy. — The program is completely new, diverse, and unusual. Therefore, I hope we will be recognized as one of the best musical groups of the Belarusian army.
