S. Naryshkin donated 6 copies of Ilya Repin's paintings to Vitebsk
July 10, Vitebsk /Eduard Pivovar – BELTA/. Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Naryshkin presented Vitebsk with 6 copies of Ilya Repin's paintings. The official ceremony took place today at the Vitebsk Art Museum, a BELTA correspondent reports.
As Sergey Naryshkin said, the idea for this event was born a year ago, when during his previous visit to the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival, he visited the Zdravnevo museum-estate, where the famous Russian artist Ilya Repin drew inspiration. The Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States took on the implementation of the idea. "We are immensely pleased to present Vitebsk with copies of Ilya Repin's works," said the Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia. "I am infinitely glad to be in this city again, which is rich in its creative traditions."
Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus Vladimir Makei, who took part in the ceremony, noted that "inseparable threads remain between the peoples of the former USSR, which pass through our hearts." "This event has confirmed that nothing can break the ties between our peoples," he stressed. On behalf of the leadership of Belarus, Vladimir Makei expressed sincere gratitude to the Russian side for this gift.
The Vitebsk Art Museum received 6 digital copies of Ilya Repin's works into its collection, the originals of which are kept in the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg and the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow. According to specialists, this is a very valuable gift for the museum, and the copies are of very high quality. They complement the museum's collection of Ilya Repin's works from the Zdravnevo period of his creativity. -0-
