Own mineral water will appear in 2013 at the Lepel Children's Rehabilitation and Health Resort Center (DROTS) "Zhemchuzhina", the director of the health resort institution Vera Zakrevskaya told a BELTA correspondent.
The mineral water project is being implemented by the center this year. Under the state program for eliminating the consequences of the Chernobyl NPP accident, Br6.7 billion has already been invested in the project. Two wells have been drilled (300 m deep for drinking water supply and 500 m deep for balneotherapy), and related work has been completed. A balneological conclusion on the possibilities of using the obtained water and its therapeutic applications is being prepared.
"Zhemchuzhina" needs another Br2.5 billion to complete the project, which will be used for communications, connecting water supply to baths and the pool, as well as finishing the construction of a water dispenser located near the passage between the buildings for the convenience of vacationers. "In this regard, we hope for the support of regional authorities and the Department for the Elimination of the Consequences of the Chernobyl NPP Disaster," said Vera Zakrevskaya, emphasizing that the center's own funds are also being directed here. In particular, the design and estimate documentation was prepared and a conclusion was obtained from RUP "Belgeologiya" through its own financing.
DROTS "Zhemchuzhina" is located in a pine forest on the shore of Lake Shchibot. All necessary conditions for accommodation, health improvement, and rehabilitation of children with various pathologies have been created here. According to the results of the state certification of sanatorium-resort and health-improving institutions, the center has been assigned the first category. This year, about 10,000 children with adults have been able to improve their health here, including over 6,000 children under vouchers from the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Public Sanatorium-Resort Treatment, and 300 children at the expense of the Union State Permanent Committee. Over 1,000 young Belarusians vacationed at "Zhemchuzhina" during the summer holidays. The total investment in 2012 aimed at strengthening the material and technical base of the center and implementing the mineral water project amounted to about Br10 billion.
