Vitebsk region budget's own revenues grew by 6% in the first half of the year

The Vitebsk region's own budget revenues in the first half of 2017 amounted to Br572 million, which is 6% higher than the same indicator in 2016. This was reported by Inna Yushchenko, Deputy Head of the Main Financial Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, who participated in the session of the regional council of deputies.

"The financial results of the first half of the year inspire a certain optimism. The region's budget received Br572 million in its own revenues," noted Inna Yushchenko. She explained that own revenues are the main part of the budget, accounting for over 70% of receipts. Compared to the same period last year, revenues increased by 6%. "The half-year plan has been fulfilled. It is necessary to pick up the pace, strengthen work, and reach a growth figure of at least 13-15% by the end of the year," added the representative of the regional executive committee.

The session noted the positive work of the Verkhnedvinsk, Vitebsk, Dubrovno, Miory, and Tolochin district councils of deputies, and the Novopolotsk city council of deputies in fulfilling the revenue part of the budgets and attracting additional funds. Among other things, decisions were made at the session to change the borders of cities and districts. Thus, the deputies voted to expand the territory of Vitebsk by including the settlement of Ruba within the city limits, and the borders of the city of Senno expanded by including the Senno boarding school in the district center.
