Vitebsk region to launch its own health TV channel
A dedicated health television channel will appear in the Vitebsk region. This was announced at a meeting of the Council for Labor and Social Issues by the Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee, Yuri Derkach.
— Informing the public about ways to maintain their own health is one of our priority tasks, — noted Yuri Nikolaevich. – For these purposes, the Main Department for Healthcare of the Regional Executive Committee and the "Vitebsk" television and radio company have created a joint project "Live and Be Well," within the framework of which 52 programs have already been released. On air, medical professionals explain in an accessible and detailed manner how to take care of one's health, what needs to be done to prevent serious illnesses, how to quickly identify a treacherous ailment, and where to turn if problems do arise. It is planned that by next year, a television channel dedicated to medicine will appear in the region.
— The Vitebsk region is the only region in the republic where mortality continues to decline, — added Yuri Derkach. — Also, residents of the northern region have had the highest increase in life expectancy over the past two years.
