Visually impaired people in Vitebsk have got their own cultural leisure center

Собственный центр культурного досуга появился у инвалидов по зрению в Витебске

This event is significant. After all, "Elekt", like many other enterprises, is currently going through difficult times. However, as those present noted, even in a challenging situation, the management is doing everything possible for its employees.

The enterprise director, Sergey Pilatov,

states that in today's economic conditions, it is necessary to adapt to new realities as quickly as possible and search for product markets. If there are no large-scale geopolitical upheavals, production growth will not be long in coming: there is a workload, and cooperation agreements have been signed. The main thing is to rely only on one's own strength. Professionals play a decisive role, as any endeavor depends on them.

The enterprise is part of the NGO "BelTIZ", therefore, great attention is paid here to the labor and social rehabilitation of visually impaired individuals, including through their involvement in cultural activities. The high quality of work carried out in this direction was surprisingly noted even by representatives of the Swedish delegation, which traditionally ranks among the leaders in the social sphere.

Several creative groups with the title of "People's" operate at "Elekt", and theatrical events are held. Amateur artists also perform at serious city events and are frequent guests at the venues of "Slavianski Bazaar". Thanks to the financial support of the enterprise's management, they often travel with concerts, including to Russia.

"Elekt" already has a spacious assembly hall at its branch located near the "Lokomotiv" sports complex. However, considering that the majority of employees work at the main enterprise on Komsomolskaya Street, there were problems with the movement of people with disabilities, who make up about half of the workforce, to rehearsals and concerts.

The cultural and leisure center (formerly the factory canteen, which was moved elsewhere) was set up using our own resources. In addition to the assembly hall that has opened its doors, there is a dressing room, a rehearsal room, a costume room, and other necessary premises.

Before cutting the symbolic ribbon, Sergey Pilatov noted that he has many subordinates with disabilities who set an example for everyone else in their attitude towards life values. They know how to work and have fun, and are actively involved in sports in various sections. And how they are involved! Lovers of goalball, mini-football, and table tennis for the visually impaired are currently the strongest in our country.

Then, those for whom it was intended came onto the stage. The lively songs of the folk music groups "Chorus" and "Krosny", and the performance of the theater studio made everyone forget about crises of any kind. After all, a good and positive mood is the main guarantee of successful activity in various fields.
