An agreement between employers, trade unions, and authorities has been signed in the Vitebsk region
As noted by Oleg Matskevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the document is aimed at ensuring the socio-labor, economic, and legal guarantees of employees of organizations of all forms of ownership. Its signing will contribute to the creation of additional conditions for the economic development of the Vitebsk region. "Employment of people, wages, labor safety, and the preservation of social support are issues that are primarily important for labor collectives. In turn, a stably functioning collective is the basis for the normal functioning of any country's economy. The agreement is an additional tool for the further development of not only individual organizations but also the region as a whole," emphasized Oleg Matskevich.
Ivan Vozmitel, Chairman of the regional trade union association, touching upon the specifics of this agreement, said that along with preserving previously adopted provisions, it expands guarantees for workers. In particular, the document includes additional norms concerning employees raising minor children; the development of the personnel training system; the stimulation of employees improving their professional skills; employment issues, including the employment of youth, women with minor children, and persons with disabilities; ensuring healthy and safe working conditions, taking measures to achieve zero injuries, and other important aspects covering labor relations.
"We were able to find compromises on all contentious issues and preserve the guarantees stipulated in the current agreement," added the Chairman of the regional trade union association. Control over the implementation of the agreement will be carried out by the labor and
social issues. The norms of the document are mandatory on the territory of the region as minimum guarantees when concluding collective agreements, sectoral and local agreements and cannot be changed in the direction of reducing social and economic protection of employees. Fulfillment of the obligations undertaken by the parties is ensured by those provided for in the regional budget, plans of economic activities of organizations, estimates of trade union organizations necessary funds and expenditure items. At the same time, the agreement does not restrict the rights of labor collectives in expanding guarantees and benefits when there is additional resource support.
