An agreement on cooperation between the Lithuanian city of Kalvarija and the Vitebsk region was signed at an international business conference in Vitebsk
The main theme of the traditional business forum was innovations, as well as discussing aspects of cooperation in the implementation of projects in logistics, construction, trade, and other areas of activity, and mechanisms of state financial support for business entities.
The organizers try not to miss the opportunity to use the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" as a tool for promoting the business interests of the Vitebsk region, popularizing the potential and conditions for economic activity in the region, and also for broadcasting partnership proposals to a wider international audience.
— The main task of the conference is to provide partners with maximum objective information about the Vitebsk region and the directions of innovative development that are of greatest interest to us, as well as to discuss cooperation options and conditions for supporting projects in priority areas, — noted Konstantin Chyorny, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Economy of the Regional Executive Committee.
At the same time, when organizing business communication, emphasis is placed on creating an informal atmosphere so that the exchange of information and opinions takes place on a "two-way street".
The main events of the program of the two-day forum, in addition to the plenary session and the presentation of the business potential of the Vitebsk region, were the contact exchange "Integration, Partnership and Innovations" and the round table "International Investment Resources".
In addition, guests were organized to visit enterprises and organizations not only in the regional center but also in the districts of the Vitebsk region.
The delegation from the Lithuanian city of Kalvarija is a regular participant in such business forums. This time, the head of the Kalvarija municipality, Vincas Plikaitis, signed a cooperation agreement with the Vitebsk region.
In an interview with journalists, he announced his intentions to actively adopt the experience of Belarusians in the development of settlements and to promote regional partnerships in the socio-cultural sphere.
In addition to the Vitebsk region, Vincas Plikaitis may also gladly visit the Polotsk region, where he served in the military during the Soviet Union.
— Kalvarija acts as a kind of platform for developing acceptable cooperation options between Lithuania and the regions of Belarus, and the Vitebsk region expects to establish interaction with Lithuanian partners on innovative projects with the support of the European Union, — said Konstantin Chyorny.
While working on promising points of contact with partners in the western direction, the Vitebsk region strives not to slow down the pace of integration to the east. New ideas and projects were discussed during negotiations with delegations from the Ivanovo, Pskov, and Smolensk regions, which included representatives of government, business, and entities supporting entrepreneurship.
The conference is organized by the regional executive committee and the Vitebsk city executive committee, CCUP "Vitebsk Regional Marketing Center", as well as the Vitebsk Regional Union of Employers.
