An agreement on cooperation was signed by entrepreneurs from the Vitebsk and Pskov regions within the framework of the exhibition "Small Business in Festival Vitebsk".
The exhibition "Small Business in Festival Vitebsk" was for the first time accompanied by the International Business Conference "State Support for Entrepreneurship. Achievements and Methods for Further Development of the Entrepreneurship Support Infrastructure". As part of the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed between the business community of the Pskov region of the Russian Federation and the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, on behalf of which Deputy Chairman Oleg Matskevich put his signature.
Recently, cooperation between Pskov and Vitebsk regions has noticeably intensified, and in various directions. Representatives of private structures were also involved. As reported by Alexander Trofimov, Head of the Entrepreneurship Department of the Economics Committee of the Regional Executive Committee, a delegation from Pridvinye recently visited the neighboring region, where constructive negotiations took place within the framework of an investment exhibition-fair. And now, an ответный visit, but with a prepared agreement in hand.
– We see prospects for cooperation in the fields of manufacturing and light industry, woodworking, and production of energy-saving products. In addition, we are interested in the system of entrepreneurship support created in the Pskov region itself. In the future, a meeting of businessmen from both sides is planned, where they could discuss pressing mutually beneficial contracts, – noted Alexander Ivanovich.
The signed agreement opens up great opportunities for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the two border regions. In particular, private enterprises in Vitebsk will be able to create joint ventures with their Russian counterparts, implement various projects, expand their presence in the Pskov region market, and also participate in exhibitions and fairs free of charge. This was announced by Svetlana Zhuravleva, Director of the Pskov Entrepreneurship Guarantee and Development Fund.
– A consultation center for enterprises engaged in foreign economic activity has been established at the fund. We already have experience of such cooperation with Minsk and Polotsk, and now we will create a system of close interaction and real partnership with Vitebsk, – noted Svetlana Ivanovna. This is her first visit to our city, but she knows a lot about it thanks to the widely known in Pskov footwear from Vitebsk manufacturers, as well as cotton and linen products. Guests and residents of the capital of the "Slavianski Bazaar" can get acquainted with the products of private structures from the Russian region at the exhibition, which is taking place at the cultural and historical complex "Golden Ring of Vitebsk "Dvina".
Representatives from other regions and countries were also present at the conference. For example, Pavel Gurshchenkov, Chairman of the "Opora Rossii" association from the Ryazan region, who also hopes for the integration of the business communities of the Ryazan and Vitebsk regions.
Great attention was paid at the meeting to discussing the innovative potential for entrepreneurship development, as well as state support for small and medium-sized businesses at the legislative level.
– All our work is aimed at developing entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus, at assisting small and medium-sized businesses. That is precisely why we invited representatives of business communities and authorities from neighboring states. Business dialogue can help our entrepreneurs realize their potential, – believes Irina Makarenko, Director of the Vitebsk Regional Marketing Center. It was this structure that initiated the event, which was held with the support of the regional executive committee.
