The Union of Writers of Belarus handed over 400 books to the Gorodok Cultural and Educational Center and the library network

«Союз писателей Беларуси» передал 400 книг Городокскому культурно-просветительскому центру и сети библиотек
It is said that a book is the best gift. This is exactly what Belarusian writers did on August 15th for the Gorodok Cultural and Educational Center and the public library network, donating 400 books.

The director of the institution, Ada Abramova, is sincerely grateful:

– On the eve of the юбилейный XXX Day of Belarusian Written Language, which Gorodok is hosting this year, such a generous gesture is hard to overestimate. Thank you! This is a significant contribution to our common library fund, which totals over 260 thousand copies.

By the way, this was the first republican book donation campaign by writers of the public association "Union of Writers of Belarus". Books were brought as a gift to the current capital of the Day of Belarusian Written Language by the chairperson of the Vitebsk regional branch of the Union of Writers of Belarus, Tamara Krasnova-Gusachenko, and her colleagues. Among them is Andrey Gerashchenko, who was born and raised in Gorodok. He donated 188 books to the library and, ultimately, to his fellow countrymen readers, including a work of fiction with memoirs of his school years spent in his childhood town.
