The Youth Union is 20! A festive event dedicated to the anniversary of the BRSM was held in Vitebsk
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin, Assistant to the President - Inspector for the Vitebsk Region Anatoly Linevich, representatives of local authorities, and universities.
Before the concert, the Vitebsk Regional Committee of BRSM presented interactive platforms in the university foyer, showcasing their areas of activity. Young people could participate in quizzes, assemble thematic puzzles, record TikTok videos, leave wishes for the Youth Union on a banner, and take photos in photo zones.
The Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin congratulated the organization on its Anniversary:
- The Youth Union is 20 years old. It is already possible to look back, see what has been achieved, what to be happy about, where to learn from mistakes. I wish everyone good health, new initiatives, and inexhaustible energy on this festive day. May the organization, as a true successor to the Komsomol, become a training ground for personnel, a center where our youth will strive, a center where initiatives grow into real deeds. May it be as prestigious to be a member of the BRSM as it was to be a member of the Komsomol.
Anatoly Linevich noted that 20 years in the scale of our young state is a period of time over which one can draw a line, analyze and move forward. He emphasized the need to do everything possible to ensure that our young people look dignified anywhere in the world, and that the youth brings glory to Belarus. "Good luck, success, prosperity, peace and kindness," wished Anatoly Konstantinovich.
At the event, the Chairperson of the Central Control Commission of BRSM, Marina Kashkur, was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Regional Executive Committee, and the Secretary of the Vitebsk Regional Committee of BRSM, Tatyana Ryk, received a Letter of Gratitude from the Regional Executive Committee.
Natalia Pravilova, Chief Accountant of the Senno District Committee of BRSM, was awarded an Honorary Diploma of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies for many years of fruitful work in the system of implementing state youth policy.
Also at the solemn event, young employees of the territorial committees of BRSM received "Vouchers for Life" from the hands of the First Secretary of the Regional Committee, Vladimir Babichev. Words of congratulations were addressed to the Youth Union from partners, including the public association "Patriots of Belarus", the regional trade union association, Vitebsk organizations of the Red Cross, the Union of Women, BRPO, the Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan, and others.
The best student groups from the region's universities presented their creative performances to the participants and guests of the celebration.
For reference: On September 6, 2002, 2 organizations merged – the Belarusian Patriotic Youth Union and the Belarusian Youth Union. As a result, the largest youth organization in the country was formed – the "Belarusian Republican Youth Union". Over its 20-year history, the BRYM has presented and implemented many interesting ideas and projects.
