A salt cave has appeared in the Lepel center "Zhemchuzhina"

August 16, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. A salt cave has opened at the Lepel Children's Rehabilitation and Health Resort Center (DROTS) "Zhemchuzhina", the institution informed a BELTA correspondent.

A halochamber is a room of about 60 cubic meters, with walls, ceiling, and floor covered with salt. A special microclimate, close in its properties to real salt caves, is created using special equipment that regulates humidity, temperature, salt ion saturation of the air, and other parameters.

Up to 15 people can be in the "Zhemchuzhina" salt cave simultaneously. Relaxing music will help patients achieve a greater health effect. All procedures are carried out under the supervision of the center's medical staff. The duration of a session is 30 minutes, the cost is Br10 thousand. The course of treatment is 7-10 sessions.

Halotherapy is recommended for chronic respiratory diseases (bronchitis, asthma, rhinitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, etc.), allergic manifestations, skin pathologies, cardiovascular diseases, and frequent colds in children.

The center does not doubt the demand for the salt cave: out of 7.5 thousand children who undergo health improvement here annually, 2.5 thousand need halotherapy, specialists emphasized.

The cost of the project to create the halochamber was about Br200 million.

DROTS "Zhemchuzhina" is located in a pine forest on the shore of Lake Shchibot. All necessary conditions for accommodation, health improvement, and rehabilitation of children with various pathologies have been created here. According to the results of the state certification of sanatorium-resort and health resort institutions, the center has been assigned the first category.-0-
