SOOO "Belvest" plans to create a modern logistics complex in the suburbs of Vitebsk
JLLC «Belvest» plans to create a modern logistics complex in the suburbs of Vitebsk no later than 2020. And although the prospective task of increasing shoe production volumes for the enterprise has been halved from 6 to 3 million pairs per year, the general director of the company, Yuri Sumaneev, is confident that today, inbound and outbound logistics for the manufacturer are often the basis for the overall success of its activities.
In an interview with «Vitebskiye Vesti» , the head of «Belvest» noted that various options for locating the logistics complex on the ground are being calculated. «We are choosing a location as close as possible to the regional center, because the congestion of roads with vehicles within the city is unprofitable for both us and the city, and we proceed from this in our calculations», – he noted. Another important criterion is the possibility of providing the site with engineering communications.
Today, "Belvest" operates at full capacity, designed to produce about 2 million pairs per year. Almost 90% of the products are sold through the company's own retail network in Belarus, Russia, and the Baltic states. Its own retail is one of the components of the enterprise's success, with about 70% of the footwear being exported (since the beginning of the year, the growth rate of this indicator, according to the head of the company, has been about 120%). For this purpose, a subsidiary group of companies, "Belvest-retail", has been established, and the reorganization of the Russian founding company has been carried out: a structure owning the retail business has been separated, and the holder of a 45% stake in the charter fund of "Belvest" is now LLC "Investment Industrial Company "Investprom", noted Yuri Sumaneev.
In the process of searching for sites to expand its capacity, the management of "Belvest" received a proposal from the government and the regional executive committee to consider the possibility of prospective development based on the Vitebsk OJSC "KIM" with the simultaneous revitalization of the outsider's economy. The implementation of the project will allow, in addition to achieving the main goals, to ensure further expansion of the holding's distribution network, which by the end of 2020 may include more than 620 stores. As "Vitebskiye Vesti" has already reported, the draft regulatory document on the creation of a diversified holding company with the management company CJSC "Industrial Group "Belvest", which will include SOOO "Belvest", enterprises established with its participation, and Vitebsk OJSC "KIM", is under approval by republican management bodies.
By the way, the holding company "Belarusian Leather and Footwear Company "Marko" is also concerned about the creation of a logistics center: 1.1 billion rubles are allocated for design work alone, and the project is already undergoing state expertise.
