The state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the Vitebsk region and the regions of Russia will be discussed by the deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly

On March 13, 2013, at 11:30 AM, a meeting of the Commission on Economic Policy of the Parliamentary Assembly will be held in the White Hall of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee (Vitebsk, Gogol Street 6).

Deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, ministries and departments of Belarus and Russia, the scientific community of both countries, as well as the leadership of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies will take part in the commission meeting.

Among the first issues, the meeting participants will discuss the state and prospects of trade and economic cooperation between the Vitebsk region and the regions of the Russian Federation.

At the meeting, members of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission will also consider a promising project in the economic sphere of the Union State:
The Concept of the Scientific and Technical Program "Creation of a Scientific and Technological Platform for the Pharmaceutical Industry for the Production of Highly Effective and Biologically Safe Functional Food Products, Hygiene and Medicinal Products of a New Generation Based on Lactoferrin and Other Human Proteins". The project is planned for implementation in the period 2014-2018 and is being prepared for consideration at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.

Representatives of ministries and departments will provide information on the progress of the preparation of the Union State program "Innovative Development of Potato and Jerusalem Artichoke Production" with a completion date of 2016. The project of this program is intended to be submitted for approval by the Council of Ministers of the Union State.

In addition, within the framework of the commission meeting, the union parliamentarians will consider a number of organizational issues, approve the commission's work plan for 2013, and discuss budget-related matters.

During their stay in the Vitebsk region, the deputies of the Parliamentary Assembly plan to visit the production republican unitary enterprise "Vitebskoblgaz" and agricultural enterprise "MazolovoGaz".
