Compassion and mercy will help Belarusians overcome shared pain - Director of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk

April 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Compassion and mercy will help Belarusians overcome common pain and make them more united, Director of the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk Lyudmila Khmelnytskaya expressed this opinion in an interview with a BELTA correspondent. "The tragedy that occurred in the Minsk metro on April 11 does not fit with the internal perception of Belarus as a calm and peace-loving country. This is grief, terrible grief for those who experienced it, who lost loved ones, this is grief for the entire country," Lyudmila Khmelnytskaya said. But, despite the shock of what happened, people who found themselves in that tragic situation did not lose their human dignity and showed the best qualities: mercy, compassion, readiness to help. "These traits are in the mentality of Belarusians. Perhaps it is thanks to them that we have survived so many hardships and preserved our country. These qualities should help us become more united," Lyudmila Khmelnytskaya is confident. The museum, which has extensive international ties, has been receiving telegrams with condolences to the families of the victims and support for the injured and all Belarusians. -0-
