An employee of the Vitebsk Regional Emergency Situations Department rescued a neighbor from a burning apartment

January 20, Vitebsk / Sergey Kochetov - BELTA/. An employee of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Sultanov, pulled a drunken neighbor from a burning apartment and extinguished the fire with improvised means before his colleagues arrived. This extraordinary case, which occurred on Rescuer's Day, was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the propaganda and training center at the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The fire broke out at night in an apartment on the seventh floor of one of the nine-story buildings in the regional center. A woman living on the same floor was the first to raise the alarm. She immediately sought help from Alexander Sultanov, who, using force, managed to enter the apartment of the negligent neighbor, from which smoke was billowing. After leading the drunken neighbor, born in 1962, out of the smoke zone, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employee promptly organized the evacuation of residents to prevent poisoning by combustion products. Then, together with them, Alexander began to extinguish the fire using buckets and water. By the time the Ministry of Emergency Situations units arrived, the incident had been extinguished. The cause of the fire was carelessness while smoking in a state of intoxication by an unemployed man. Only the vigilance of neighbors and timely assistance helped to avoid a tragedy. By the way, the incident happened a few minutes before the end of January 19, when the professional holiday of the Ministry of Emergency Situations workers was celebrated. -0-
