MChS employees will carry out blasting operations on the Western Dvina near the town of Disna

March 26, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Employees of the Republican Special Purpose Unit and the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will carry out blasting operations on the Western Dvina River near the town of Disna on March 26 and 27. This was reported to a BelTA correspondent by the Ministry of Emergency Situations press service. The need for blasting operations is explained by the high probability of a sharp rise in water levels in this river. To prevent this, rescuers deemed blasting operations expedient. In general, the flood situation in Belarus is under control. The main cause of flooding is not floodwaters, but meltwater. Ministry of Emergency Situations units and employees of other departments are assisting the population in pumping and managing meltwater.
