The Gorodok District Socio-Pedagogical Center is expanding rehabilitation opportunities

Социально-педагогический центр Городокского района расширяет возможности реабилитации
The Social Pedagogical Center of the Horadok District has moved from the urban settlement of Ezerishche to the district center, which will improve public access to its services, reported Vladimir Novichenok, Head of the Education, Sports and Tourism Department of the Horadok District Executive Committee.

"The reason for the move was that the district center has better transport links – residents of the district will have more opportunities to seek social and pedagogical rehabilitation at the center itself, which is located in a separate building of Secondary School No. 2 near the Horadok bus station. Thus, parents of children in the social shelter (which is part of the institution) will be able to visit them more often. In addition, Horadok has cultural facilities for organizing leisure activities for children living in the shelter, and they will be able to participate in cultural and mass events of the district and the city. In all respects, this relocation is rational, it will save budget funds and optimize the costs of maintaining the center," - noted Vladimir Novichenok.

The school building was not chosen randomly for the center. Part of the premises of the small building is used for extended-day groups, and there is still enough space for the center's operations and the shelter. Necessary repairs were made in advance. The center's activities will practically not change after the move. It will continue to provide social-pedagogical, psychological, and other assistance to children in socially dangerous situations or those in difficult life circumstances, as well as their parents and legal representatives. The center also facilitates the return of minors to their families and is responsible for the social adaptation of children and adolescents to life in society.

According to Vladimir Novichenok, 48 children passed through the shelter in 2015, and 31 children from January to September 2016. From January to September 2016, specialists from the social-pedagogical rehabilitation department provided assistance, including psychological assistance, to 321 children, 60 parents, and 38 teachers.
