The Security Council will prepare proposals to improve the security system in Belarus by the end of April

April 19, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. The Security Council will develop proposals for organizing additional security measures in Belarus by the end of April and submit them to the President for consideration. This was announced to a BELTA correspondent by State Secretary of the Security Council Leonid Maltsev. He held a reception for citizens in Vitebsk today at the joint Belarusian-Russian enterprise "Belvest". "There is an order from the President, according to which the Security Council is working out additional measures to ensure security at various facilities, including metro stations, railway stations, markets, shopping centers, and other places with mass gatherings of people. Security is also analyzed at other facilities, from the perspective of their vulnerability to various factors. The country's security system as a whole is being considered, and how to improve it," Leonid Maltsev explained. When developing additional measures, proposals from ministries and departments, and scientific organizations are taken into account. This concerns not only public security but also other types, such as industrial security. According to Leonid Maltsev, at the end of April, relevant proposals will be reported to the head of state and, after approval, will be implemented. At the reception for citizens, answering a question about the situation on the currency market, Leonid Maltsev expressed confidence that it will stabilize in the near future. In his opinion, the lifting of restrictions on the formation of the Belarusian ruble exchange rate in foreign currency purchase and sale transactions between banks and economic entities, which was announced today by the National Bank, will help normalize the situation on the currency market. "A real exchange rate will now be determined. The issue has been fundamentally resolved, the mechanism has been launched," said the State Secretary of the Security Council. However, the most important factor for the stable functioning of the currency market is not the formation of the exchange rate, but the balance of foreign trade activities. "The most important thing is that we sell more abroad than we buy, then there will be no shortage of currency," emphasized Leonid Maltsev. The government has taken measures to increase exports and reduce imports. -0-
