Joint staff training allows for an objective assessment of the state of the armed forces - N. Bordyuzha

July 29, Vitebsk region / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. A joint staff exercise allows for an objective assessment of the armed forces' readiness. This viewpoint was expressed today to journalists by the Secretary General of the CSTO, Nikolai Bordyuzha. Together with members of the CSTO Permanent Council, he familiarized himself with the combat training system of the 103rd Guards Separate Mobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, reports a BELTA correspondent.

The visit to the mobile brigade was planned in advance and coincidentally coincided with the joint staff exercise taking place in Belarus, Nikolai Bordyuzha emphasized. In his opinion, an unplanned check of the armed forces' combat readiness is a correct practice. "An unexpected check of readiness for immediate action allows for an objective assessment of the situation in the armed forces and trains units and formations," believes Nikolai Bordyuzha.

A joint staff exercise is ongoing in the Armed Forces of Belarus, which, in accordance with the order of the President, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, involves a number of military units of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces, Special Operations Forces, the Western Operational Command, and Missile Forces and Artillery.

The visit of the CSTO Permanent Council members was organized on the initiative of the Belarusian side within the framework of the ongoing presidency of the Republic of Belarus in the CSTO. A similar visit took place in April 2010 to the 98th Guards Airborne Division of the Armed Forces of Russia. As Nikolai Bordyuzha noted, the servicemen of both military units demonstrated an equally high level of training. -0-
