A modern hangar complex for business aviation is planned to be built in the Vitebsk region

November 13, Minsk /Olga Belyavskaya - BELTA/. A modern hangar complex for storing and servicing business aviation aircraft is planned to be built at Vitebsk Airport. This was announced today at a roundtable meeting during the Belarusian Investment and Economic Forum by the head of the Vitebsk branch of RUP "Belaeronavigatsia" Sergey Ruris, a BELTA correspondent reports. The project will require $2.7 million. The payback period is from 5 to 7 years. It is expected that the new facility will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2011. Sergey Ruris noted that about 500 aircraft fly over Vitebsk daily. The geographical location of Vitebsk Airport is very advantageous and convenient for servicing business aviation. "Given the growth in the flow of business aviation aircraft, we need to use our existing potential, which can be done with the help of the new complex," said the head of the branch. The new facility will be able to provide comprehensive services for business aviation, including aircraft storage and maintenance, as well as services for passengers and aircraft crews. A logistics center will be built in the Vitebsk Airport area, which will make the services of the new hangar complex even more attractive to potential investors, Sergey Ruris added. According to him, the services provided by the Vitebsk Airport hangar complex will help to fill "the unmet services in the Moscow airport zone that currently exist." "Given the high prices in the Moscow airport zone and the shortage of parking spaces for business aviation aircraft, the Vitebsk hangar complex can act as a partner, not a competitor, to its Moscow counterparts," noted Sergey Ruris. The cost of hangar storage for business aviation aircraft in the new hangar complex in the Vitebsk region will be several times cheaper than in the Moscow airport zone. -0-
