This point of view was expressed today at the first session of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies of the 26th convocation by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, Boris Batura, BELTA correspondent reports. The Law "On Local Government and Self-Government in the Republic of Belarus", which comes into force at the beginning of July this year, provides for councils, in order to effectively exercise their powers, protect common interests and provide mutual assistance in resolving issues of local importance, and other assistance in the implementation of local self-government functions, the possibility of creating associations in the form of associations of councils, the speaker of the upper house recalled. In his opinion, the creation of associations will activate the activities of the councils, help them to more actively engage in the implementation of state programs, which will ultimately give a new impetus to the work of local councils, primarily at the primary level. -0-
