The creation of new enterprises and production facilities is the task set by the Mayor of Vitebsk for 2017

Key performance indicators for enterprises and organizations of Vitebsk for 2017 have been approved at the 35th extraordinary session of the City Council of Deputies of the 27th convocation.

These include foreign direct investment, export of goods and services, and the number of citizens employed in newly created jobs through the organization of new production facilities and enterprises.

– The outgoing year was challenging in economic terms. Unfortunately, we did not manage to fully implement the planned tasks, – said Viktor Nikolaikin, Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee.

However, there are positive results. The unemployment rate has decreased: over 1,600 people have been employed in newly created jobs.

– It is necessary to continue working in this direction in 2017. The organization of new enterprises and production facilities is a top priority for the administrations of the city districts and structural divisions of the city executive committee. Our reserve for ensuring employment of citizens is the development of small businesses, – noted Viktor Pavlovich.

Over 10 months of 2016, 55 new small and medium-sized organizations in the fields of trade, services, construction, transport, and industrial production started their operations in Vitebsk.
