Chekhov's 'Temptation' and Chagall's 'Return'. What premieres will the 'Lyalka' Theatre show in the new season?
and director Mikhail Klimchuk.
The new theater season starts on September 30, Sunday. On this day, a premiere performance "Tales about a Tale" awaits the young audience. The production based on the works of the famous Belarusian artist Hanna Silivonchik was staged by director Mikhail Klimchuk and artist Sofia Shakhnovskaya.
– Hanna Silivonchik writes short fairy tales, I chose eight of them and combined them into one story, – said Mikhail Klimchuk. – The production centers on several characters. One, who has done more good deeds in his life, ends up on a white cloud, sits there with binoculars and a book, and watches people. Sometimes he descends to earth to tell them good fairy tales. The second character has done more bad deeds, and he was sent to a cloud to clean the sky of rain and snow every day. But he also wants to introduce someone to his stories. Through joint creativity, the characters create new engaging and instructive stories.
On this day, adults will be shown the play "Temptation, or The Black Monk" based on the story by Anton Chekhov. The audience will be able to observe the development in the Garden of Eden of the eternal plot that forever changed the fate of all those bound by the ties of love.
One of the significant events of the new theater year will be the production "Chagall. Return to Vitebsk," the premiere of which is scheduled for February 2019. Before the rehearsals begin, there will be an open meeting with researchers of the artist's life and work – Arkady Podlipsky, Viktor Martinovich, and Alexander Lisov.
– At one time, I was deeply impressed by Marc Chagall's book "My Life," – admitted Viktor Klimchuk. – After reading it, I decided to write a play about a person who glorified Vitebsk to the whole world.
The artist for the production, Sofya Shakhnovskaya, was found by the author in Murmansk. It is planned that the main role in the play will be performed by Yury Frankov.
This autumn, the theater company will travel to international festivals in Belgorod and Kaliningrad.
Plans include the internal reconstruction of the "Lyal'ka" building, in particular, the creation of a small stage.
