Last Thursday, a student of additional adult education courses, Vladislav Golubovsky, was honored at the Vitebsk Polytechnic Vocational Lyceum. The young man was awarded an honorary diploma from the Republican Council of OSVOD for saving a drowning person.

In the evening of April 27, Vladislav and his friend were on the bank of the Western Dvina River on the side of Chernyakhovsky Avenue. Suddenly, a cry was heard. A person was floundering in the water, their strength clearly failing. Vladislav rushed to help without hesitation. The drowning person was about ten meters away. After pulling the man ashore, an ambulance was called. The police and the Ministry of Emergency Situations soon arrived. The rescued person turned out to be a 48-year-old resident of the village of Komary, Vitebsk district, who was in a state of severe alcohol intoxication. The ambulance took him to the intensive care unit.

Presenting Vladislav Golubovsky with an honorary diploma and a monetary award, the chairman of the regional organization of OSVOD, Alexander Myasoedov, thanked the young man for his courage, decisiveness, and compassion, and wished him "diving health." On this day, Vladislav was celebrating his 25th birthday, for which the acting director of the vocational lyceum, Marina Ulassevich, presented him with a cake baked by the students. Taking the opportunity, OSVOD diving specialist Vyacheslav Gorin reminded the audience that one should never relax when отдыхая at a body of water. It is necessary to observe elementary rules of conduct, prevent and warn others against rash actions. The floor was also given to the hero of the occasion. Vladislav Golubovsky noted that he never passes by people in need of help. Currently, the young man is completing a 5-month cookery course from the employment center and is undergoing an internship at the "Lyubava" cafe, where he plans to work as a qualified specialist.
