Thank you for being there: Alexander Subbotin congratulated veterans

Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin visited the Vitebsk boarding house for the elderly and disabled today, where he congratulated the veterans living there on the upcoming Victory Day and presented them with financial assistance and valuable gifts.

The guests focused on the Great Patriotic War participants Zaitsev Ivan Grigoryevich, Lipskaya Irina Nikolaevna, and Kosobutskaya Maria Afanasyevna. The head of the region addressed the warmest words to them:

– Thank you for being here! Thank you for your courage during the difficult war years, for your post-war work for the benefit of our native country. Thanks to you, Belarus has a peaceful sky. We highly value, love, and respect each of the veterans and wish you a long life!

No less sincere wishes were heard from the veterans. Maria Kosobutskaya urged to appreciate the independence of their country and preserve the memory of the true events of the war:

– I met Victory Day in Prague. The war was still going on all around. But I will never forget these feelings, although we were all already expecting a swift victory, judging by the front-line reports. Believe me, a peaceful sky is happiness, it is the opportunity to live and work calmly. This was the dream of everyone who went through the war.

In total, 2,590 people in the Vitebsk region will receive financial assistance for Victory Day. The amount of payments will be 2.1 million rubles.
