Sports facilities under the "Gazprom - for children" program will appear in Belarus in the near future
Sports facilities will soon appear in Belarus under the "Gazprom - Children" program. This was stated by Chairman of the Management Board of Gazprom OJSC Alexey Miller on the evening of May 14 in Vitebsk at a press conference dedicated to the "Fakel" corporate festival, according to a BELTA correspondent.
"Proposals for possible projects are currently being prepared by the management of Gazprom Transgaz Belarus and the Republic of Belarus for Gazprom. And I can assure everyone that sports facilities will soon appear here within the framework of the 'Gazprom - Children' program, where Belarusian children will be able to engage in sports," emphasized Alexey Miller.
The head of Gazprom also noted that the corporation gives priority to this program. "This is the largest and most ambitious project of our company, which has been implemented since 2007. About 18 billion Russian rubles have already been invested within its framework. But it's not about the money, but about the goals we set: to pay close attention to ensuring that our growing generation grows up physically strong and spiritually developed. And for this, we are creating the appropriate infrastructure," said Alexey Miller. In its implementation, there are already major projects: sports complexes, yard and sports grounds have been built. But the most important thing is that issues of purchasing inventory and necessary sports equipment are being resolved. Alexey Miller noted that about 90,000 children engage in sports daily at the facilities built in recent years under the "Gazprom - Children" program.
